ON SITE COMPACT CRUSHER HIRE FOR THE SOUTH WEST
Information And Description
Potential savings:

Single toggle jaw crusher with jaw aperture of 400mm x 170mm – the only small crusher to accept a full UK kerbstone.
The 4000 series is 775mm wide and can travel through doorways, into rear gardens, and enter sites where access and
space is restricted. Hydraulically adjustable jaws allow for the adjustment of output product size, ranging from
a choice of 5mm up to 70mm.
Material: The 4000 series will crush concrete, kerbstone, marble, paving slabs, bricks, tiles, blocks, stone, porcelain, flint,
gravestones, etc
Output: Output will vary according to jaw setting, loading method, loading equipment, input material, and familiarity of the loading
operator. In excess of 6t per hour has been achieved.
Jaws: Hydraulic adjustment lever allows for the quick release of material and adjustment of product size. A hydraulic jaw
‘reverse’ is also provided. A hydraulic pressure relief valve and further safety features are fitted as standard.
Jaw plates are made of 14% manganese steel which will ‘work-harden’. The jaws are reversible (2 ‘lives’).
Reinforced concrete & steel: For steel and reinforced concrete it is recommended that you protect your conveyor belt and crush this material having
removed the conveyor belt. Removal of the output conveyor system is quick and easy.
Engine: The engine is a Perkins 14hp water-cooled diesel with a maximum rpm of 3600. The engine is economical using red or
white diesel. The fuel tank capacity is 10 litres, with 1 litre of fuel lasting approximately 30 minutes.
Tracks & Controls: Tracks are rubber and controlled by hydraulic levers. A fast-track lever is available for straight line tracking. Controls are
simple and clearly labeled.
Conveyor & Dust Suppression: Dust suppression is fitted as standard and is by means of fine water spray nozzles, utilizing standard domestic hose
pressure. The output conveyor is simple in design with a moulded belt providing strength and durability. The conveyor
system can be removed quickly to allow access for cleaning.
Loading: Maximum productivity is achieved by correct loading of the crusher; this is a steady feeding of the jaw aperture, ensuring
that the jaw or hopper is not over-loaded. Loaded by hand or with a maximum 1.5t mini excavator using a maximum 10
inch bucket, a steady feed method should be employed as this will produce optimum tonnage per hour. Overloading or
swamping the hopper or jaw will reduce output.
An option conveyor mounted screener is available for the separation of dust and topsoil from the crushing process.
Screener Attachment (optional): Supplied with a 10mm mesh, the screener can also assist with the creation of decorative aggregates.

Typical job examples:
Example 1:-
Reduce size of 50mm granite in courtyard, to a 20/14mm and screen out fines.
Fines used for bedding of slab path.
Savings – No need to remove approx 50t of material through building cutting out around 200 trips through busy corridor with power barrow.
No need for approx 50t of fresh aggregate to be imported and a further 200 trips through corridor.
Saving on manpower and cutting out Health and Safety risks by reducing movements through building.
Example 2:-
Dig up old building floor and crush down to a 40mm crusher run, approx 100 tonne.
Savings – No need for lorry to take material away saving approx £400 per day on lorry hire and £3.50 per tonne on tipping fees.
Material used as infill around new building so no need for fresh aggregate.
Example 3:-
Remove internal wall in building and crush blocks to approx 40mm to re use on job for fill under new concrete floor.
Savings – No need to carry blocks out of building as crusher fits through doorways. Crush inside of building and discharge straight out of window for stockpiling, saving on time, manpower and not having to buy in materials saving approx 50% on job.
Example 4:-
Knock down 3 bed bungalow and crush down to approx 50mm crusher run.
Savings – No need for skips at approx £180 each, buying in aggregates, waiting around for collections and deliveries and lorry movements.
Material used for fill under new building floor and base for scaffold saving approx 50% on job cost.
